Pure maple syrup can replace other sweeteners in many recipes. Here’s a simple guide to help you adjust quantities properly.

In desserts and baked goods

1 cup white sugar = ¾ cup amber maple syrup, rich taste or dark maple syrup, robust taste
or 1 cup maple sugar.

Recommended adjustments :

  • Reduce the liquids in the recipe by about 3 tablespoons
  • Slightly lower the oven temperature (about 10–15 °C / 25 °F)

In marinades

1 tablespoon honey = 1 tablespoon dark maple syrup, robust taste or very dark maple syrup, strong taste.

Result :

  • Similar texture
  • A more nuanced, local flavor

In dressings and sauces

1 tablespoon sugar = 1 tablespoon  golden maple syrup, delicate taste or amber maple syrup, rich taste.

Tip : Add gradually and adjust after tasting to balance sweet and savory notes.

In beverages

Replace flavored syrups with the same quantity of amber maple syrup, rich taste.

Examples :

  • Café latte
  • Tea
  • Cocktails and mocktails
