Sweet, savoury and crispy — the perfect appetizer trio.
Ingredients
- 2 firm apples (Cortland, Honeycrisp or Gala), diced
- 12 slices of bacon, cut into thirds
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Toothpicks
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, vinegar and Dijon mustard.
- Wrap each apple cube with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush generously with the maple glaze.
- Bake 15–20 minutes, turning halfway through and brushing again with glaze.
- Serve hot, straight from the oven.
Tips
For a festive twist, sprinkle a pinch of Espelette pepper before baking.
You can prepare the glaze in advance and assemble just before guests arrive.
